  • Every bike comes with a high visibility helmet, bike lock, puncture repair kit and pump to ensure that no matter what you run into that you are prepared.

    For multi-day hires we also include Ortlieb classic panniers, a Zefal 60 top of carrier bag and a spare tube and tools.

    We also have a range of other accessories for purchase including gloves, electrolyte packs, sunblock and water bottles.

  • Everyones tastes are different, and while we don’t book your accomodation for you we feed back recommendations made by our customers along with other interesting activities. Just flick us a message using the contact forms and we can give you some details!

  • Shuttle costs are dependent on time of day, distance, number of passengers and availability. We are able to provide shuttle services to or from any destination on the Hauraki Rail Trail, Hunua Traverse or day trips around Kaiaua. We can also provide shuttles to any destination between Auckland and Tauranga. Please contact us for a quote.

  • Children taller than 155cm can ride our bikes and e-bikes. We also have front of seat child carriers for ages 2 to 6 and a rear seat add on for ages 1 to 3.

  • We accept cash (NZD) as well as EFTPOS / Credit Card payments through our mobile terminal.

    Alternatively you can book through this website and the payment will be taken through Stripe.

    Shuttle transactions are transacted at the end of your journey seperately.

  • The Hauraki Rail Trail is suitable for all fitness levels, especially with our e-bikes. Sections of the track range from 22km to 50 km. If a person rode at an average of 10km per hour, this is 2 - 5 hours out of the day (our e-bikes have a top speed 32 km/h). Spread it out and take it easy, or go fast and do 2 sections per day – the choice is yours.

  • The Hūnua Traverse has been classified as a Grade 4 ride.

    Suitable for fit, experienced cyclists with good off-road and/or on-road skills, a high level of fitness and over 12 years of age; children should be accompanied by an adult.

    Both our mountain bikes and e-bikes are capable of riding the Hūnua Traverse.

  • The weather can be variable so it is advisable to carry clothing to manage any changes. Take sufficient bottled water (minimum 3L a day per person) for your trip and pack snacks. We provide panniers for multi-day hires. There are plenty of places to stop for a drink and something to eat at the businesses and towns along the Hauraki Rail Trail. It is also advisable to carry appropriate means of communication such as a mobile phone. Gloves are also recommended.

  • In most places on the Hauraki Rail Trail mobile phone coverage is generally good, although it can be patchy on Section C through the Karangahake Gorge.

    On the Hūnua Traverse there is limited cellphone reception.

  • This region enjoys some of New Zealand's best weather, which makes the Hauraki Rail Trail a good all-year-round ride.

    Temperatures range between 24-31 ̊ C in the summer months, and average around 12-14 ̊ C in the middle of winter, although at night it can be colder.
